Interested in a career in live music? Want to know more about what it takes to be a live lighting and sound technician?
Join us for a hands-on workshop as part of Creative Careers month, where you’ll discover what it takes to bring a live music performance to life.
Working alongside our technician and the band Lucky Number Seven, you’ll get the chance to explore the world of live sound and lighting. You’ll learn about setting up equipment, carrying out a soundcheck and operating lighting for a live performance.
You’ll also discover how technicians work with performers to understand their needs and prepare everything for a successful gig. With plenty of opportunities to get hands-on, you’ll gain valuable insights and experience what it’s like to work directly with the band during a soundcheck and the skills involved, with guidance and tips along the way.
To finish, Lucky Number Seven will perform a short live set, followed by a Q&A where you can ask the band and sound technician your questions about working in the live music industry.
Come along, get hands-on and discover where a career behind the scenes of live music could take you!
Space is free, but limited, so please book in advance.
For ages 14 to 18
